New Year, New Blog

Happy new year!

Well, last night I was ticking along nicely- picking up a couple of quid on the football and few dollars on the poker when i started betting on a rugby game and losing a tiny amount. Then I started playing poker and managed to lose pretty much all of the money in my betfair account (£75) when I happened to run into 4 bad beats pretty much in a row. My AK lost to K3o (all in pre flop). Then when I picked up a pocket pair (55s) I was all in again. If the guy would go all in with a k3o 55s should probably be good against him. He turned over tens. So there we have a bad beat that later manifested itself into a 'good' beat! I can see now that i was being a bit over aggressive there.

The other that sticks out was with aboard of 4339 rainbow. I was all in with a pair of fours. I know doesnt sound like a great hand but this was heads up and the other guy was a calling station. he turns over aj and sure enough the last card was an ace. All in all, I suffered about 4 bad beats where i was 70% or more favourite and one coin flip.

Anyway, I know from the figures that I was up in poker for 2007 and that is before rakeback. But still the bad beats kill me and send me crazy. Thats why Im going to start this blog to document my experience so hopefully I can try and eradicate the dreaded Tilt!

Reasons for the Blog

1. I always read all the other betting blogs out there. Theyre a great inspiration and I feel I owe it to all the other bloggers whom i read to at least attempt a blog myself. It'll probably not last that long but lets give it a shot and see how we go.
2. I am hoping to find support and advice from other traders that will hopefully help me get through those inevitable and dark losing days.
3. I am hoping that by putting my actions into a blog I will be able to better analyse my performance and I also hope that it will help me to let off steam and reel off any bad beats!

So here goes. Next up... Rules!
